When I visited the site I felt a very strong feeling of history, of many
layers of occupation, different
periods of buildings knitted
together in a single place.
What had been here before?
I immediately went and researched the site and surrounding area
and discovered that the site
has had many different
incarnations over time.
This fascinated me and made me want to do a piece of work to express
the site’s ‘memory of time’.
A typographic neon text installation using words relating to the historical sequence of the site’s occupancy, or simply expressing the site’s ‘memory’.
